These terms govern your use of the Gyrus mobile application. Installing or using Gyrus means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.

What Gyrus is, and what it is not

Gyrus is a cognitive training app. It proposes short daily exercises and measures your results on them.

Gyrus is not a medical device and makes no health claim. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or monitor any condition. The scores it shows describe your performance on its own exercises and nothing else: they are not a measurement of intelligence, not a clinical assessment, and not a predictor of anything outside the app. No serious evidence establishes that training of this kind transfers to everyday cognitive ability, and we do not claim that it does.

If you are worried about your memory, your attention, or your concentration, speak to a doctor. Gyrus is not a substitute for that conversation and must never delay it.

No account

Gyrus works without an account. Your data lives on your device and is described field by field in the privacy policy. We hold no login, and therefore cannot restore anything you lose by uninstalling.

Subscription

The diagnostic and part of the app are free. The daily program requires a subscription.

• The store sells it, not us. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, under their own terms. We never see your payment details.
• Prices are shown by the store, already converted to your currency and inclusive of applicable taxes. The price displayed at the moment of purchase is the one that applies.
• The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period — weekly or yearly, depending on the plan you choose — unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• A free trial, where one is offered, converts into a paid subscription on the same terms unless cancelled before it ends. Subscribing to a plan that offers a trial while a trial has already been used may result in an immediate charge; the store decides this, not us.
• Cancellation happens in the store, in your Apple or Google account settings, not in the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running to its end.
• Refunds are handled by the store, under its policy. We cannot issue them and cannot overrule a refusal.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Right of withdrawal

Under EU consumer law you have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance purchase. By starting to use the program immediately, you ask for it to be supplied before that period ends and, once it has been fully supplied, you lose the right of withdrawal. This does not affect refund requests addressed to Apple or Google, which follow their own policies and are often more generous.

What you may not do

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the app's content, except where law expressly allows it.
• Circumvent the paywall, or resell, rent, or redistribute access.
• Use the app in a way that disrupts the service for other people.

Intellectual property

The app, its exercises, its texts, its interface, and its brand belong to the publisher. Your subscription grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app. It transfers no ownership.

Availability, and changes

We may change the exercises, add some, or withdraw some. We may stop the service altogether; if that happens, we will announce it in the app and no further period will be billed.

The app is provided as it stands. We do not promise it will be free of defects or uninterrupted.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or personal injury, nor any right you hold as a consumer under mandatory law. Within that limit, our liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amounts you paid over the twelve months preceding the claim.

Minimum age

Gyrus is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you are a minor, use it only with the agreement of the person responsible for you.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them, and any material change will be announced in the app before it takes effect.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory protections of the country in which you reside.

Before going to court, write to support@gyrusapp.com: most disputes end there. As a European consumer you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
